NHL Breakaway 99 is the second and last part in Acclaim's NHL series for the Nintendo 64.

NHL Breakaway 99 includes new and updated rosters for the '98-99 season, teams and schedules. All 27 NHL team feature up to date stats and ratings.

There are five game modes: exhibition, practice, season, shootout, and playoffs. A wide variety of settings can be set for each game including, injuries, fatigue, fighting and penalty options.
